Evacuation of Nigerians from Egypt
Abuja – No fewer than 500 Nigerians returned from Egypt early on Thursday and were received by the Foreign Affairs Minister for State Hajia Salamatu Suleiman at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The returnees were made up students, government officials, businessmen and others.
President Goodluck Jonathan had directed the immediate evacuation of Nigerians from Egypt following the political unrest in that country.
Receiving them, Salamatu expressed government’s commitment to the protection of its citizens wherever they are across the globe.
Responding on behalf of the returnees, Col. Abdulmumuni Aminu commended the Federal Government for its quick response to the plight of the people, adding that the experience was traumatic for them, following the closure of banks, and other basic amenities.........source facebook
Osaze sets 15 Goal target this season
Peter Odemwingie of West Brom hopes to score 15 goals this season after netting his No 9 goal against Wigan.
The Super Eagles striker admits that his target at the start of the season had been a bit low, but he has now readjusted after going higher than his own expectations.
I am confident i can carry on at this current rate and finish with a tally that any Premier League frontman would be proud of.
"There are 14 games to go and I hope I will get to 15 goals," he told the Express and Star.
"The target was to get to double figures, minimum, and I am nearly there. I just need one more goal.
